God Is Wonderful in His Saints

Women Saints’ Calendar

By means of our Calendar of Orthodox Women Saints, we hope to increase veneration of the saints, making them very real to the faithful. The communion of saints is like a chain, with each person being a separate link united to the next link through the Holy Mysteries, especially Baptism and Holy Eucharist. Like Jacob’s ladder, this chain of communion among the saints leads from heaven to earth and from earth to heaven, and cannot be contained by boundaries of time or space.

We had hoped to continue publishing the calendar each year; however, God had other plans. The three published calendars with the themes of Deaconesses, Women Who Lost Children, and Virginity, make a wonderful addition to your library for saint references. The three calendars are available as a set for $15 or may be purchased separately for $6.

Service to Saints Mary and Martha of Bethany for June 4th

$5 per copy, plus postage and handling

Having searched for many years and asked numerous people who would have known if there was a service for Saints Mary and Martha of Bethany, Friends of Jesus (Feastday - June 4th), we only found an Akathist. In the spirit of obedience, Mother Seraphima composed a Service to Saints Mary and Martha of Bethany.

Printed in large type for easy reading, the following is an Aposticha verse from Vespers:

Christ the Savior, who had nowhere to lay His head, found rest and refreshment in the home of the sisters of Bethany. Devoted to prayer, contemplation and silence, Mary brought forth much fruit and loved God above all things. Dedicated to good works and love of neighbor, Martha brought forth much fruit and loved God in others. Mary and Martha, two sides of the same coin, lovingly served the Lord and not mammon.
